Window Blinds
These window blinds were designed for the front windows of the Lunar Electric Rover. The main challenge was the curve in the windows. Our blinds had to match the curve as well as fit behind the existing monitors that control all functions of the LER. We used an origami folding technique to overcome these challenges and incorporated a futuristic aesthetic that all people involved in the project enjoyed. We had to overcome material challenges similar to the soft stowage lockers, as well as manufacturing techniques in order to produce two finished versions ready for use in the dessert test missions.
