Soft Stowage
The lunar rover is intended to function as a habitable space for two astronauts, therefore appropriate stowage components are necessary. After considering the confines of the interior space, the items that needed to be stored, and the mobility of the inhabitants, we began to prototype. We created a model of a possible stowage solution to hang in each hatchway. Experimenting with a strong awning fabric, polyethylene sheets, and various attachment methods, we produced a collapsible soft stowage locker composed of three individual and detachable units.
